Differences Among spring forming machines
The evolution of the spring forming machine
Springs are used everywhere in our lives, from clothespins, automatic ballpoint pens, to furniture, electronic information products, automotive suspension systems, precision medical instruments... etc. Various applications increase the richness and precision of springs, and also raise the requirements for spring forming machines. The evolution of spring forming machines can be divided into three stages: cam spring forming machine, camless spring forming machine and X-Type spring forming machine.
1. Cam spring forming machine
The earliest spring forming machine has only two axes, namely the feed axis and the cam axis, so it can only move linearly. In order to increase some forming flexibility, a rotatory quill axis is added to the 3-axis machine, in addition to the feed and cam axes. The 5-axis spring forming machine is developed based on the function of the 3-axis one. It adds a rotary wire axis and bending axis to the original 3-axis. This makes each bender no longer restricted to a single plane movement, but can form a three-dimensional angle. Therefore, the forming function becomes much better and can handle complex spring forming. The eight cams on the working panel of the spring forming machine are all driven and controlled by a servo motor. As a result, each bender can only form an angle in a single plane, so the forming function is relatively limited. In addition, the setup of the cam phase is complicated and it usually requires an experienced operator to adjust it.
2. Camless spring forming machine
Unlike the cam machine, each axis on the multi-axis cam-free spring forming machine is controlled by an independent servo motor. It greatly reduces the difficulty of machine setup, and thus improves the efficiency of production and processing. The number of axes of the spring forming machine will affect the forming capacity and processing efficiency. These differences will also be reflected in the price. Customers should consider their own business needs when choosing a spring forming machine to find the most suitable one.
3. X-Typespring forming machine
This is Xinda's patented spring forming machine series. This series of spring forming machines break through the existing slide motion pattern. It makes each slide move from a single linear way to both horizontal and vertical movement. This unique design can feed in 2 tools at the same time, realizing a variety of ways of working. It can be imaged as a spring "knitting machine". The advantages of using sliding plates instead of a fixed sliding seat for a spring forming machine are (1) it grants the operator more flexibility when doing the machine setup; (2) the processing range of the working panel becomes wider; (3) greatly improves the overall production efficiency and effectiveness.
When choosing a spring forming machine for your business, the software system is also a critical factor to consider. Professionally designed software can simplify the machine setup, shorten the stroke distance, and further improve the efficiency of spring production.
The Xinda team began designing and manufacturing spring forming machines from the earliest two-axis era, and has accumulated rich experience. We are happy to provide our customers with a full range of spring forming machine solutions and assist them in solving any problems related to the production of springs.
