What is the T-adjustment function of the spring forming machine?
The unique timeline software of Xinda's spring forming machine provides some useful advanced functions to the customer. One of which is the T-adjustment function, the convenient auto outer-diameter-adjustment function to increase spring accuracy without installing additional peripheral device.
The T-adjustment function automatically adjusts the outer diameter of the spring by measuring the angle during the forming process of the torsion spring. The operator can obtain complete production information at a glance through real-time statistical charts and data on the screen. The system can input up to four sets of outer diameter dimensions.
The following example is to illustrate how to produce double torsion springs using the rotary camless spring forming machine CNC1320W with two touch probes and the included T-adjustment function.
Two touch probes (or laser probes) are used to detect and measure the forming angle of the spring. According to the measurement data, the T-adjustment function can automatically adjust (compensate) the coiling outer diameter at both ends of the double torsion spring.
The setting of the T-adjustment function is quite simple – first, install the probe in the proper position, and then fill in the main specifications of the double torsion spring in the input field of the T-adjustment function screen, including:
- Wire diameter
- Amount of coiling
- Tolerance limits
- Outer Diameter value
- Pitch value
The measured statistical curve will be continuously displayed on the screen during production. The Cpk value and rating (e.g., A++) are also displayed accordingly.
The T-adjustment function eliminates the need to adjust the tooling in the traditional manual way and does not require the use of an additional length gauge device. Its robust software capability can effectively improve the qualification rate of the spring, reduce the loss of production, and greatly increase the production accuracy of the spring.
